MeB4 Privacy Policy

Effective October 23, 2026 · MeB4, Inc., 863 Duncan Drive, Westbury, NY 11590 · founder@meb4.com
The short version

What we collect, and why

Your account. You sign in with Apple. We receive a user ID, and your name and email if you choose to share them (Apple lets you hide your email). We use this to know who listed what and who held what.

What you list. Photo, title, price, category, description, item size, and the map pin you choose. These are shown publicly. If you list as an individual, your pin is rounded to about a city block. Never put your exact address in a description. The public photo is rebuilt from the picture itself, so it carries no hidden location data.

Scan files (private). When you scan an item to sell, we also keep the scan file (the colour image, depth data and camera settings). It is stored privately and only you and MeB4 can read it. We use these files to improve how MeB4 measures garments. You can ask us to delete yours at any time at founder@meb4.com, and they are deleted when you delete your account.

Messages. When someone holds an item, the shopper and seller can message each other about pickup. Only those two people can read the thread. We keep messages for 12 months after a hold ends so we can look into reports, then delete them.

Holds. We record which item was held, by whom, and when. A hold lasts 24 hours and a person can have up to 3 at a time.

Reports and blocks. If you report a listing or person, or block someone, we store that so we can act on it. People you block can't see that you blocked them.

Your location. If you allow it, the app uses your phone's location to centre the maps near you. That stays on your phone. To show nearby items, the app sends our server the part of the map that is on screen. For a small weather effect on the map, it sends your location rounded to about 1 km to a weather service (Open-Meteo). Searches for places on the map go to Apple Maps, under Apple's privacy terms.

Hunt. If you use "keep watching" in Hunt, the area you trace and what you are looking for are saved privately on our server so we can notify you when something matches. Nobody else can see them. The map you have explored is stored only on your phone.

Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store the token Apple gives us so we can send them.

Music. Some shop windows play a track through SoundCloud's own player. SoundCloud may collect information under its own terms when that player loads.

Crash data. The app reads Apple's own crash and performance reports on your phone. Nothing is uploaded today.

Who we share it with

How long we keep it

Listings stay until you remove them. Messages are kept 12 months after a hold ends. When you delete your account in the app, we delete your profile, listings, photos, scan files, messages, holds, watched areas and notification tokens. We may keep anonymised sales records and records we are legally required to keep.

Your choices

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Database rules mean you can only change your own listings and profile, and your private scan files can only be read by you and MeB4.

Children

MeB4 is for people 18 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
